Fluval FX4 External Filter – Up to 1000L

Built for larger tanks, this canister filter handles aquariums up to 1000L (250 US Gal) and suits both freshwater and saltwater setups. It is the more compact sibling of the FX6, with multi-stage filtration and Smart Pump i technology on board.

At 16.5" tall it slips under most aquariums, and rubberised feet keep running noise down. All the media you need to get going is supplied in the box.

Key benefits

• Multi-stage filtration moving 700 gallons (2650 L) of water per hour
• Smart Pump i microchip keeps an eye on pump performance and tunes it for efficiency
• Self-starting: add water, plug in and trapped air is cleared automatically every 12 hours
• Water changes made simple by attaching the output hose, so no hauling buckets
• Stackable, removable baskets stop water bypass and take 1 gallon (3.9 L) of media in total
• Mechanical, chemical and biological media all included
• Leak-proof Aqua-Stop valves with Click-Fit attachment and a handy 45-degree valve position
• Anti-clog telescopic strainer, adjustable multi-directional output nozzles and a utility valve with drain hose for flushing

How to use

Fill the canister with water, connect the hoses using the Click-Fit Aqua-Stop valves and plug in. Smart Pump i takes care of self-priming and purges trapped air every 12 hours. For water changes, attach the output hose. Use the utility valve and drain hose when flushing the canister during maintenance.
