A boundary wire is laid around the area you wish to protect and carries a harmless radio signal. When your dog nears the edge, the receiver collar sounds a warning tone, and a short, safe static correction follows if they continue. Most dogs work out where the line is within a short time and stay comfortably inside it.

Nothing visible spoils the look of the garden, and there are no gaps for a persistent dog to slip through. You decide the limits, and your dog learns to respect them.

How to use

Check the online wire calculator first to see how much wire your garden will take. Then bury or peg the wire along the boundary you have chosen and work through the training guide supplied. A week or two of steady practice is usually enough for your dog to learn the limits and enjoy the garden safely.
