• A health certificate is needed by most airlines
• Only small pets travel in the cabin, the rest go in a pressurised cargo hold
• Ring the airline well in advance, as most cap the number of pets per flight
• Walk and feed your pet suitably ahead of check-in
• Weekday flights tend to run more smoothly for staff coordination
• Snub-nosed breeds should not fly in hot weather
