PawGuard 820 GPS Wireless Dog Fence

This GPS dog fence works entirely from the collar. There is no transmitter to plug in, no wire to bury, no SIM card and no app or subscription. You set the boundary on the collar itself and satellite positioning keeps track of where your dog is, with setup taking around five minutes.

With the boundary saved, the collar builds a circular safe zone around that point, from roughly 23 metres out to more than 900 metres in radius, so it suits anything from a modest garden to a farm. A dog heading for the edge gets a warning first, and the correction increases only if they carry on, so most dogs learn the limit quickly and turn back on the warning alone. An automatic memory function holds your settings, so there is no need to reprogramme after every power off.

As it relies on GPS, the 820 is best on open ground with a clear view of the sky: large gardens, farmland, beaches and campsites. It is not intended for indoor use or dense woodland, where the satellite signal is blocked. The newest generation GPS chip locks on faster and more accurately than earlier models, allows for weak signal and draws less power. Intelligent scene recognition and layered protection modes help prevent over-correction, and the rechargeable collar is built for outdoor use in Irish weather.

How to use

Stand at the centre point of the area you want to protect, set the boundary on the collar and choose your radius. Setup takes about five minutes. Use it on open ground with a clear view of the sky rather than indoors or under heavy tree cover.
