Mikki Undercoat Rake for Thick Coats

Thick-coated dogs cannot thin out their own undercoat, so they rely on us for a hand. This rake was put together by grooming specialists to break up matts and tangles while lifting away dead undercoat.

The teeth are set in a stepped pattern, so fluffy undercoat is drawn out and the top coat is left in good condition.

Key benefits

• Lifts loose undercoat while leaving the top coat undamaged
• Stainless steel teeth spin to ease knots and tangles apart
• Long teeth reach down into the lower layers of a thick coat
• Designed by grooming experts as an anti-tangle rake

How to use

Groom outdoors, or stand your dog on a mat or newspaper to catch the loose hair. Make sure you and your dog are both relaxed and comfortable first, so the session is pleasant for you both. Draw the rake through the coat using no more pressure than you would on your own hair, letting the spinning stainless steel teeth work gently through any tangles. A gentle back and forth sawing motion loosens undercoat knots and pulls out dead or loose hair. Finish with a brush or comb to layer the coat neatly.
